ARCHANGEL MICHAEL
"Against All Evil"
Referenced in the Biblical books of Daniel, Jude, and Revelation, the Archangel Michael is described as the prince of light, the commander of the army of God and the leader of God's forces against the forces of Satan. The Archangel Michael has since that time come to be known as the patron saint of healing, chivalry, forbearance, mercy, and war. His compatriots are Gabriel and Raphael.
Jim Shore tells the story of the Archangel Michael defeating Satan in this allegorical figurine in which Michael holds the sword of the Lord and the scales of justice while resting his foot on the vanquished body of his enemy Satan.
